8 Tips for Resumes

Now a day more and more employers and recruiters are requesting resumes from the industrial field.  If you don’t have a resume, several Workforce Centers and unemployment offices provide free resume writing workshops and access to computers.  If you have a resume that needs updating, we came across a great article with few easy steps to upgrade your resume.  Here are some of them:

  1. Get rid of you address
  2. Get keyword savvy- if you have experience with specific programs, equipment, tools, machinery, etc., name them!
  3. Delete the year you graduated
  4. Tailor your resume for different jobs
  5. Delete “Reference on Request”
  6. Don’t include sports, clubs, or grade point average from high school or college
  7. Use your name in the file name
  8. Bring paper resumes to interviews
